MANSFIELD TRAINING FACILITY –
Trauma Services technicians recently completed their level “A” Hazmat training certification.
The level “A” training took place over 3 days, including 24+ hours of classroom and hands-on instruction, followed by an exam.
Level A Hazmat protection consists of a fully encapsulating chemical entry suit with a full-face, self-contained breathing apparatus, and is the highest level of protection against hazardous vapors, gases, mists, and particles.
The length of the training, as well as the high-cost of equipment makes Level A certification a sizable investment for the company. However, Trauma Services CEO Mike Wiseman believes it’s well worth it.
“This is the highest level of protection you can possibly have.” says Wiseman. “We recognize the dangers our technicians face in the field. We want them prepared to safely respond to any situation that may come up.”
