
This introductory course will equip investigators with the concepts of crime scene management, the importance of documentation, and proper protocols for collection and preservation of physical evidence.
In addition, students will gain the ability, through brief lectures and hands on participation in mock crime scenes, to confidently utilize the methods for developing latent prints on evidence. Attention to scene safety and maximizing success in locating and preserving important physical evidence in a variety of environments will be emphasized.
Students will learn basics in evidence processing and gain basic proficiency in on scene evaluation of the quality of latent impressions for future analysis and comparison purposes.
